Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about life at West Gate Studios.

West Gate Studios is intended for both Romanian and international students enrolled in undergraduate, master’s, or PhD programs, as well as young professionals at the beginning of their careers, up to the age of 30.

The minimum age for accommodation is 18.

For exceptional situations, please contact the Administrative Office directly at office@ihouse-westgate.ro.

  • Current residents: June 4–24, 2026, with exclusive loyalty benefits.
  • New residents: Starting July 8, 2026, subject to availability.

At West Gate Studios, the contract fee covers much more than just accommodation.

We offer a comprehensive package so that you can enjoy a worry-free academic year.

The accommodation fee includes:

  • Taxes and fees (VAT, taxes, and local charges)
  • 24/7 campus security, building access control, and video surveillance
  • Utilities: water, electricity, internet, and cable TV
  • One complimentary deep cleaning service for your room
  • Private health insurance through Medicover
  • Access to campus facilities, including:
    • Library and study rooms
    • Swimming pool
    • Campus events and activities
    • Common lounge and relaxation areas

Everything is designed to provide a comfortable, secure, and convenient living experience throughout the academic year.

  • Company registration number (CUI) – if the contract holder is a legal entity

You may choose one of the following accommodation periods:

▪ 10-month contract: September 27, 2026 – July 27, 2027
▪ Extended contract (11.5 months): September 27, 2026 – September 11, 2027

Choosing a specific room or building is not available for new residents.

The only exception applies to current residents, who can request to keep their room during the contract renewal period.

Moves are only possible starting from the third week after check-in, depending on availability and with approval from the Administrative Office.

A justified reason is required in order to submit a relocation request.

Yes, you can specify a preferred roommate in the Reservation Form. 

Rooms can be occupied by one person (single occupancy) or two people (double occupancy).

Such situations should be discussed with the West Gate Studios team. We will try to resolve the issue through mediation between roommates, and if that is not possible, a relocation option will be considered.

One complimentary deep cleaning service is included in the rental agreement and can be scheduled between January and May 2027.

In addition to the complimentary cleaning included in the contract, residents may request additional cleaning services for an extra fee, subject to appointment availability.

Fee: 270 RON per cleaning service.

What it includes:

  • Window cleaning

  • Refrigerator cleaning and defrosting

  • Microwave and stovetop cleaning

  • Dusting

  • General bathroom cleaning

  • Vacuuming and mopping the room

  • Balcony cleaning (free of charge upon request, if dirt is caused by pigeons)

Yes, bringing a pet is allowed under the following conditions:

  • A monthly fee of 200 RON is charged.

  • Only small or medium-sized pets are accepted.

  • Exotic or aggressive animals are not permitted.

  • The pet must have a valid medical certificate, including vaccinations and overall health status.

Yes. There are 3 options:

  • Underground parking: €36/month
  • Parking near the buildings: €26/month
  • Parking on Bd. Preciziei: €21/month

Any technical issue must be reported exclusively through the resident portal. For urgent situations, 24/7 emergency phone numbers are available and displayed on campus. Interventions related to normal wear and tear are free of charge. Damages caused by the resident are assessed and billed based on a repair estimate.

The check-in start date will be announced in advance by the West Gate Studios team. Check-in is carried out based on a scheduled appointment arranged by our team.

You will receive an email informing you of the date and time you are expected to arrive. On the day of your arrival, you must bring your ID card or passport.

The entire process takes approximately 30 minutes.

Each resident has access to private health insurance provided through a partnership with Medicover.

To benefit from this insurance, it must be activated by contacting the Administrative Office team after you move into the campus.

The insurance covers:

  • Outpatient consultations (general medicine and internal medicine)
  • One set of annual laboratory tests free of charge (included in the standard package)
  • Access to the Medicover clinic network in Bucharest
  • Access to the Medicover digital platform for appointments and test results

Yes, your colleagues and friends are welcome.

Each visitor must register at the building reception upon arrival on campus and comply with the internal regulations.

Smoking is not allowed in rooms or indoor areas. It is only permitted on balconies and in designated outdoor areas.

The use of additional equipment beyond what is already provided in the room is allowed only with the approval of the Administrative Office and may involve extra charges, calculated based on the type of equipment and its energy consumption.

These costs range between 5 and 20 EUR/month and must be paid once, in advance, for the entire usage period, from installation until the end of the contract.

Bringing additional furniture into the room is only allowed with the approval of the Administrative Office and may incur additional charges, calculated based on the type of furniture, starting from 100 RON/item/handling. Handling is carried out exclusively by the campus technical staff.
